Wilk Announces City of Hesperia Awarded $300,000 to Address Critical Housing Need

Senator Scott Wilk (R-Santa Clarita) is pleased to announce $300,000 has been awarded to the City of Hesperia from the California Department of Housing and Community Development Department’s (HCD) Local Early Action Planning (LEAP) Grants program to address the city’s critical housing needs.

“California is suffering from a major housing shortage,” said Wilk. “These funds will give City of Hesperia a major boost and help support its construction of new housing. Far too many families are priced out of the market and this will really help create affordable housing throughout that area. This is fantastic news, and I am very grateful to HCD for making this opportunity possible.”

HCD’s LEAP program reflects California’s commitment to work with local governments to address the need for new housing in the state.
